The exhibition is exclusively for visitors aged 18 and above.
This Friday, Stasys Museum will present the exhibition “Gesamtkunstwerk” (Eng. “Total Work of Art”) by Hermann Nitsch, a pioneer of the Vienna Actionism movement, being showcased in Lithuania for the first time.
The personal exhibition, curated from private collections in Graz and the Nitsch Foundation in Vienna, will be displayed on the museum’s fourth floor. Meanwhile, the lower floors will continue to feature the permanent exhibition “ICON-O-STASYS” by Stasys Eidrigevičius, which has captivated audiences.
We invite visitors and Hermann Nitsch enthusiasts to explore the exhibition during the opening on Friday, November 29, at 6 PM. The exhibition will be introduced by the museum’s exhibition curator, Lina Albrikienė. Learn more about the exhibition here.
Attendance is limited, registration in advance is needed.
We would like to inform you that the exhibition “Hermann Nitsch. Gesamtkunstwerk,” displayed in our museum, is intended for visitors aged 18 and above. This (18+) age restriction has been established to ensure the content of the exhibition is properly understood and appreciated.
Some of the works may be considered provocative or elicit strong reactions. The exhibition features: ritualistic motifs involving blood and corporeality, as well as intense visual and symbolic scenes. If museum staff have any doubts about a visitor’s age, we may ask for identification. Certain works in the exhibition are marked and cannot be photographed or filmed.
