About the Museum

Stasys Eidrigevičius says: "it is the fragment, the detail that speaks of mastery." An outspoken detail is where the visit of Stasys Museum begins - look up and you will see his signature on the huge white facade wall outside. Stasys is a phenomenon and the museum named after him is therefore such by default. Leaning on the keywords of simplicity, logics and fantasy, it will undoubtedly change the dynamics of the cultural field of Panevėžys, Lithuania, and the Baltics. The world knows Stasys, so now let‘s open up and discover Panevėžys through an artistic lense.
Stasys Museum's ambition is to become the beating heart of Panevėžys culture and an international art destination in the Baltic region. The exclusive combination of the words "Stasys" and "Museum" promises an extraordinary and intriguing experience. Stasys, the first name of the artist Mr. Eidrigevičius, is also a traditional Lithuanian name, representing the Lithuanianness of the museum and the strong bond with local communities, while the international word Museum indicates openness to the world. It must be fate, but did you notice the initials of Stasys Eidrigevičius embedded in the word MUS.E.UM?
Open, simple, sincere and communicative - this is how Stasys and it‘s creators see the museum. Visitors from all around the globe are warmly welcome to discover hundreds of Stasys' works. The Stasys Eidrigevičius collection includes photographs, posters, masks, pastels, miniatures, bookplates, paintings, scupltures and so much more. It consists of more than 1000 elements meticulously curated by Stasys’ son, Ignacy Eidrigevičius, and Lina Albrikienė.
The museum’s ambition is to allow the public to get acquainted with professional international modern art, therefore Stasys Museum is building strong bonds with partner institutions around the globe. The agenda of international talent and world-renowned artists to be exhibited at the museum will be disclosed in the news and you are invited not to miss a beat.
Monumental and minimalistic – Stasys Museum form speaks for itself. Designed by the ambitious and youthful “IMPLMNT architects”, lead by Aurimas Syrusas, Greta Šidlauskaitė and Ričardas Bertašius, the Stasys Museum concept represents three visionary keywords: simplicity, logics and fantasy, which are embedded in every aspect of the museum’s architecture, look and feel.
The architecture of the museum is consistent and homogenuous, subtly highlighting details related to S. Eidrigevičius art. The result is bold, has gravitas and leaves a monumental impression.
