As every year, the 19th Vilnius Short Film Festival will open the film festival season, and in 2026, after a long break, it will return to Panevėžys! The festival will take place on January 21-25 at the Stasys Eidrigevičius Arts Center “Stasys Museum”, as well as all over Lithuania on the home cinema platforms ŽMONĖS Cinema and LRT Epika.
This year, we are excited to fill January with even brighter colours! We will kick off the new year on cinema screens with a program of short films that are captivating, thrilling, and laugh-out-loud funny, which we promise will draw you into the magical and colourful world of short stories.
Full festival programme coming soon! While you wait, repeat the name of the festival and mark the dates in your calendar.
In 2024, the Vilnius Short Film Festival was the first in Lithuania to qualify for the Oscars, and in 2025, it qualified for the European Film Awards. Films competing in the festival’s competition programs have the opportunity to win prizes established by the Oscars and the European Film Awards.
This year, the festival is also taking even stronger steps towards inclusion and accessibility for people with disabilities and other socially vulnerable groups.
