World-renowned artist Stasys Eidrigevičius celebrates his 75th anniversary in Panevėžys

One of Lithuania’s most renowned contemporary artists, known for experimenting with new techniques and ideas, Stasys Eidrigevičius celebrates his 75th birthday in Panevėžys at the “Stasys Museum” named in his honor. The versatile artist, who resides in Warsaw, was congratulated on his anniversary by Panevėžys Mayor Rytis Račkauskas, who wished him creative success and good health. Stasys Eidrigevičius is a painter, graphic artist, poster designer, illustrator, installation artist, director.

The “Stasys Museum” team and close family friends of Stasys Eidrigevičius also joined in congratulating the world-class artist on his birthday. After receiving the well-wishes, the artist expressed his gratitude and performed a surprise performance dedicated to the memory of art historian Ingrida Korsakaitė. In a pulpit he designed himself, the maestro lit candles, donned a paper hat and a mask in his signature style, and observed a moment of silence to honor his deceased friend.

Stasys Eidrigevičius is internationally recognized as the creator of thousands of drawings, hundreds of paintings, ex libris, miniatures, pastels, collages, posters, book illustrations, various genres of photography, as well as sculptures, installations, performances, theater productions, and articles in cultural publications. The museum bearing the name of this globally renowned artist was opened in Panevėžys on May 31st. The artist gifted the city a vast collection of his life’s work, which forms the basis of the debut exhibition currently on display at the museum, ICON-O-STASYS.
