Inviting you to experience Panevėžys: the new game “The City That Draws You In” starts now

Panevėžys – a city that draws you in – new urban legends, beautifying spaces, and a variety of experiences for tourists are being created here. This autumn, the Panevėžys Development Agency “Panevėžys NOW” invites you not only to explore the city but also to participate in a new social media game – take a picture in the mirror located in the city’s space and stand a chance to win valuable prizes – “A Day in Panevėžys” and even two €100 introductions to the city.

“Panevėžys has been experiencing a renaissance for some time now – more and more arriving tourists are discovering a lively, green city filled with culture, offering a variety of experiences. This year, it was added to the European cultural map – a new urban legend, the STASYS MUSEUM of contemporary art, recently opened its doors. As autumn sets in, the season of theaters, of which there are four in the city, begins, along with various galleries, cozy walks in parks, entertainment, and numerous other activities. The game invites you to engage with the city not only through travel but also by becoming a part of it in the mirror, where the backdrop will embellish your photo with the STASYS MUSEUM,” says Vilanda Reikalienė, head of tourism projects at the Panevėžys Development Agency “Panevėžys NOW.”

A special game mirror can be found in the square next to the STASYS MUSEUM (Respublikos g. 40, Panevėžys).

Game rules for “The City That Draws You In”

In the game “The City That Draws You In,” announced on the social media of the Panevėžys Development Agency, inviting tourists and locals to discover unique attractions and capture their journey in the city mirror – all users of social media “Instagram” or “Facebook” can participate until October 31, 2024.

How to participate in the game?

– Take a photo in the mirror;

– Share a story and/or post with a photo and/or video on your social media “Facebook” and/or “Instagram” accounts;*

– Tag the Panevėžys Development Agency’s social media accounts on “Facebook” (@PanevėžysNOW) and/or “Instagram” (@panevezysnow)

– Use the hashtag #MIESTASKURISITRAUKIA

*Each participant can share an unlimited number of stories and/or posts, each increasing their chances of winning.

The winner of the game will receive the main prize “A Day in Panevėžys” – a guided tour at the STASYS MUSEUM, a set of museum merchandise, two tickets to a selected play at the Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre, dinner for two at BLUE GASTRO restaurant, and an orientation game “Unfamiliar Panevėžys.”

During the game period, two monthly prizes will also be given out in September and October – “Good Gifts” – from the Impressions gift store, and a €100 Panevėžys gift card.

Prize winners will be randomly selected from users who have fulfilled all the organizer’s conditions. The main prize winner will be drawn on November 4, 2024, while the monthly prize winners – on September 20 and October 11, 2024.

To reveal Panevėžys’s uniqueness and how the city is perceived by others, a series of articles titled “The City That Draws You In” is being prepared with recommendations from local residents. Insights have already been shared by the director of STASYS MUSEUM Vaida Andrijauskaitė, the director of “Panevėžys NOW” Monika Miniotaitė, and designer-stylist, and costume creator Inga Jurkevičiūtė. This series is planned to continue into the autumn, bringing even more resident experiences soon.
