Educational Program Open to Schools, City Residents, and Visitors

3 min read

As autumn settles in, Stasys Museum invites residents of Panevėžys city and the entire region, schools, and guests from other cities to discover contemporary culture through creation and exploration.

The museum presents an updated educational program that includes creative workshops, guided tours, free activities for children and families, and public programs designed for everyone interested in exploring contemporary culture.

“Since the very opening of Stasys Museum, we have aimed to offer visitors not only the opportunity to get acquainted with exhibitions and their creators, but also to provide conditions for exploring together how our cities, natural environment, and economic activities are changing. With this educational program, the museum goes beyond its walls and becomes open to everyone—from young schoolchildren to adult visitors,” says Head of Educational Programs Vilius Vaitiekūnas.

“Children’s Forest Pavilion” and the Public Program

Since the beginning of this summer, Stasys Museum has hosted the Children’s Forest Pavilion—an architectural object and conceptual structure created by the art, architecture, and research collective Neringa Forest Architecture (Jurga Daubaraitė, Egija Inzule, Jonas Žukauskas). It offers various opportunities for play, interaction, and discussion. Already discovered by many Lithuanian schoolchildren and kindergarteners, the Children’s Forest Pavilion functions as both a play and learning tool that encourages and recognizes children’s unique perspectives on the forest—their ability to observe, interpret, and interact with it—highlighting their importance in shaping the forest’s future.

Since the beginning of September, the pavilion has also been complemented by a public program that includes creative workshops, educational activities, film screenings, and guided tours open to both children and adults.

All events are free of charge, and the schedule is available here: stasysmuseum.com/news/vaiku-misko-paviljono-viesoji-programa

Guided Tours and Educational Activities for Everyone

On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the museum invites visitors to join regular guided tours of the current exhibitions, led by Stasys Museum guides.

Through the Culture Pass system, schools can choose educational sessions that allow participants to explore their creativity, learn to identify and express their cultural experiences, or take part in educational games developed together with architects, educators, and artists. Families are invited to join free creative workshops designed for both children and their guardians.

Free Visits to Stasys Museum and Ongoing Programs for Children with Special Educational Needs

Stasys Museum seeks to make contemporary culture accessible to everyone. The museum continues its partnerships with the wheat deep-processing company Roquette Amilina, digital services provider Splius, and the Panevėžys District Education Center, which ensure that school and kindergarten communities from the region can participate in educational and creative activities free of charge.

The museum also continues programs for children with special educational needs, offering a safe and inclusive environment for creativity and exploration, where each participant can learn and discover at their own pace. These initiatives are implemented in cooperation with educational institutions and non-governmental organizations, strengthening the museum’s ties with the local community.

The educational activities at Stasys Museum are funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Panevėžys City Municipality.
